Crestron, Polycom add 80-inch Sharp digital signage display to Lync meeting room solution

Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, a division of Sharp Electronics Corp., announced that its 80-inch Aqous Board Interactive Digital Signage Display System can be purchased as part of the Crestron RL and the Polycom CX8000 group collaboration solutions. The interactive display comes as part of Crestron and Polycom’s Lync Room System that is primarily geared toward enterprise solutions. The 80-inch display has been qualified as part of Crestron RL and Polycom CX8000’s Lync Room Systems, according to Sharp.

“Microsoft Lync has become the gold-standard for modern office settings, and Sharp is proud to provide an LED display system for the Crestron RL and Polycom CX8000,” Gary Bailer, SIICA’s director of product management, said in the announcement. “The PN-L802B offers all of the features that make collaboration across business easy and intuitive. With longtime partners Crestron and Polycom, we’ve helped create a comprehensive solutions program to fit the collaborative demands of virtually any enterprise.”

Sharp said its PN-L802B system offers a high-definition LED backlit digital signage display, designed to make it suitable for use as a digital whiteboard, a critical aspect to collaboration systems. The 80-inch display is one of the larger models to operate with this particular meeting room solution by Crestron RL and the Polycom CX8000 for Microsoft Lync, with other models including the 55-inch class and 65-inch class displays, according to the announcement.

“Lync has quickly established itself as the new universal standard for meeting rooms,” Crestron Executive Director, Business Development, Steve Samson said in the announcement. “We’re excited that Sharp has developed a world class multitouch, large-format display that takes these Lync Room Systems to the next level in medium-sized and large meeting rooms.”
